Stephen Shafer, L.P.C.

Stephen Shafer was the founder, executive director and lead counselor of Alpha & Omega Counseling Center for over a decade. He received his Masters of Science as a Rehabilitation Therapist and graduated top of his class from the University of Scranton. He was also a Board Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Board Certified Rehabilitation Therapist and belonged to the American Counseling Association, PA Rehabilitation Association and National Rehabilitation Association. He dedicated his heart to God in 2005, opened up Alpha & Omega Counseling Center in 2007.

He lived with his wife, Terry, of 40+ years, in the quiet town of Greentown, Pennsylvania, and have three kids who are all adults and have children of their own. Stephen tragically passed in January of 2024, but his legacy and long-lasting impact will live on in the many lives he has helped over the years.

Eileen MacNamara

Eileen MacNamara received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Scranton in 1987. She graduated with honors and maintained a full scholarship through the Rehabilitation Services Administration throughout the course of her studies. Eileen is currently a candidate for LPC licensure. Eileen has worked in a wide variety of therapeutic milieus throughout the course of her career. She specializes in trauma counseling, polyvagal regulation work, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and domestic violence. Eileen has a passion for connecting with people and partnering with them to help them find safety, peace, joy, confidence, and a life purpose. She firmly believes that everyone’s voice deserves to be heard and their experiences validated. Eileen also offers Christian counseling services to those who desire to utilize a faith-based counseling approach. Beginning in autumn 2023, Eileen will be incorporating Animal Assisted Therapy into her practice.

Eileen is the mother of two adult sons, who are her greatest joy. She enjoys a lifelong passion for nature photography and spends as much time outdoors as possible. Eileen’s other interests include antiquing, local history, music, painting, and holistic health.

Marissa Ivanko

Marissa Ivanko has her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Child Maltreatment from Pennsylvania State University. She is also a PA Registered Behavioral Health Technician. Marissa specializes in depression, anxiety, teen therapy, art therapy, and spiritual therapy. Marissa aids in finding balance in the mind, body, and soul. She also focuses on creating a positive atmosphere for all clients and helping each individual find their purpose in life. Marissa’s aspiration is to help each client reconnect to be the best version of themselves.

In addition, Marissa is currently continuing her education at Walden University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Wednesday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday: CLOSED
